CJ Inset Jacket & S3684

It has been a glorious weekend so far, and still one day to go. Yesterday, I got my housework done, so everything is clean for the week. I also spent some time doing kitchen duty--preparing food for a couple of days. My husband is diabetic and a heart patient. I am a vegetarian on a diet. It's a bit of logistics to weigh and measure all of our food and then count carbs, fat grams, proteins, calories and Weight Watchers points!

This morning I went for a 3-mile walk, which I do every day, and had time to go to my sewing room.

I finished the CJ Patterns Inset Jacket. I've made it before, and enjoy it's swingy, casual style. This fabric is a basket-weave, loosely woven navy.

There are pleats on the lower front, and lower back. Sometime, I am going to redraft the pattern, and make a set-in sleeve, replacing the dropped sleeve.

Here is a blouse I made a while ago. Simplicity 3684.

The fabric is yellow cotton, trimmed with a narrow, gathered lace. I really like this blouse, and will make it again, and soon.

OK, I'm going to ditch the white pants! After tomorrow. Maybe.
Have a great holiday!

Lovely jacket and blouse. One day I may get around to making that blouse. I love it. About those white pants, I'm not ready to let go. (lol)

I really love that blouse! I wouldn't have thought to add the lace, so I might try it next time I make my favourite BWOF blouse which has a similar bib front. Navy and white always looks great. I've never been able to bring myself to wear white pants, though. If there's red wine or pasta sauce in a 10km radius, it will find my clothes!

pants!!!!!

I love that jacket on you. That's one pattern I didn't think looked that great on her samples. But on you it's terrific!

It must feel good to have gotten so much done. It's great that you walk three miles every day. That will keep you healthy.

I love the jacket and blouse.

Beautiful blouse! I just picked up this pattern the other day at the Hancock sale.
About the white pants, I have read that one could wear them almost year round! I draw the line when the snow flies though!!!

Lovely blouse! I like the trim and the cross-grain effect of the front inset piece.

I love the jacket on you. I've never thought of this pattern but it definitely is a style I could wear....I would like a collar, I'm sure it could easily be added?
....and I love your blouse. Another pattern I have but have not made yet.

Have the pattern. Spent a great deal of time to get it to fit. I don't know why it gave me a fit. It looks great on you. Maybe I'll try the pattern again.
