Rainy Day Finds

What's a girl to do on a rainy day but buy fabric! DH and I had errands to do today, and a stop at the local Jo's was on the list.

I got appropriate snaps for the jacket, so I can finish it up tomorrow. I bought a bolt of pattern tracing paper. I got a dark, stretch denim-50% off. And these:

There's a beige/black print tencel. I am going to make CJ Patterns Inset Jacket.

At a recent sewing club meeting, Christine Jonson presented a trunk show. I tried on this garment and loved it. It's a full, pleated, unlined jacket. The tencel fabric is drapey enough to work.

I also discovered a rayon/poly blend perfect for dress pants. It's black with a gray stripe. Also, I picked up a cotton knit. All fabrics were on sale. Of course, what's not on sale at Jo's?

I've been enjoying the nail polish posts of Shannon and Cidell. I love nail polish, hair products and make up. When I was a little girl, I had a red plastic purse, and in it I always had candy lipstick. It was smeared all over my mouth, and I thought I was so glamorous!

My daughter bought some fabulous make-up for me.

This is by Sephora. The case opens and there's eye shadows, blushes, lipsticks and brushes.

After all these years, things haven't changed! I still love my girly stuff! Thank you, DD.

I wouldn't know where to start with all those color shadows! Have fun. Love the jacket pattern.

I love the make-up kits. I use to have a bunch of those back when you could get them at upscale department stores for $XX when you bought the perfume or whatever. I haven't seen one in years. How fun!

"I ADORE being a girl!!" Started with ruffly panties that I loved showing off (put your dress down!). STILL love ruffles, polka dots, Easter hats, ... ...
