Hot Patterns Gift To Me

Gwen, of "In Over My Head" blog had several give-aways in December.  She wanted everyone who entered to win, so at the end of the giveaway(s), she bought those of us who didn't win their choice of Hot Patterns from a particular grouping.  How sweet is that?  I decide on this HotPatterns Plain&Simple Boxy Bowling Bag pattern.  Whew--that's a lotta' name!  Looks like this:

I like a structured bag, and this fits the bill.  I'm going to search the HP Website and PR to see if I can find photos of the bag, finished.  I'm anxious to try this one out.

Thank you, Gwen.

I was glued to the TV last night, watching Downton Abbey.  Some of you are having Downton parties, with tea and crumpets.  I am so jealous!  Still, I thoroughly enjoyed it without a party.  Tonight, PeggySagers is doing her bi-monthly webcast.  It's about knits.  Honestly, knits are more popular now than in the 70s when Stretch&Sew erupted.  I took a lot of classes at the local S&S store.  It was new, fresh and fun.  Now the variety of knits has expanded so that it takes some skill to know how to handle the various fabrics, their stretch and eccentricities.  Which you know, they have.

I'll be here with my face in the computer screen tonight.  See you there.

I don't watch a lot of TV, but I have been excited for Sunday's Downton Abbey, and Peggy's webcast tonight too! Two nights of great watching.

I haven't seen this pattern before but it looks like something that I need in my collection. I like structured bags, too. I must be the only person in the world who doesn't like Downton Abbey.

Of course being in Alabama, I'll be watching the National Championship (football) - much more bourgeois!

I guess I need to get on the Downton bandwagon. I've yet to watch it, but I keep hearing about it and am on the verge of starting! As for Peggy's webcast, I want to see it. How does one go about finding it?

I haven't caught on to Downton fever, but given how popular it is I'm sure I'll have to tune in one of these days! I love that bag pattern -- what a generous blogger!

Being an Aussie on the other side of the world, we don't get to see Downton Abbey until sometime in February this year!!!

I can't wait to see what you do with this pattern! :)

Nice pattern. I am sure you will come up with something fabulous.

Downton, perfect, love the costumes. Makes we want to sew vintage clothing again! Loved it!

Wonderful pattern choice. I am one of those crazy Downton fans and thoroghly enjoyed seeing everyone again on Sunday night. I do wish the wedding scenes had been longer o I could check out the dresses in more detail.

I saw a few of your comments on Jilly Be's site, I think, so I came over to see your blog, and decided to check out the Peggy Sagers webcast. Oh my goodness! She's awesome! I watched the one on knits and learned so much. I've sewn for many years but not seriously, and I have a lot of questions so it was great to find this wonderful resource for sewers of all levels. So a big Thank You Gwen for mentioning her, because otherwise I wouldn't have known.

I'm also a big fan of Downton Abbey, and I almost never watch tv. Great show.

Take care, and thanks again.
