Recent Purchases and Free Stuff

During the last week I've made 3 pair of pants--2 black and 1 navy.  The last pair needs a hook and eye and a hem.  Then, I can move on to something more interesting.

Just in the event I should run low on patterns, I bought some last weekend, when Simplicity was on sale
at Jo's.   Lori made S2443 recently, and it is cute as can be.  I must have one.
Here are some fabrics I either bought, or got off the grab table at Creative Clothing Club.  Two of them are already made into pants.

I found a poly/rayon fabric that I think will work nicely for the long shirt/jacket in a previous post.  A friend suggested this NewLook pattern.  After buying it and looking at it, I see there is no front band, but just topstitched to simulate the look of a band.  Also, there's no collar band, but a rolled collar.  I'll probably use a tailored shirt pattern but keep this pattern out for inspiration.

This

will become this:

There's a tunic in my future also, and here's the fabric and pattern.

I bought David Coffin's Trousers book with a 50% off coupon.  I've heard some mixed reviews.  There is no fitting in it at all.  It's highly technical, in keeping with his Shirtmaking book.  It will stay in my library.
Finally,  I got a couple of old books off the grab table at the sewing club.  I haven't looked through them yet, so they may, or may not,  find a home here.

Happy St.Patrick's Day tomorrow to all who celebrate it!

You are inspiring. I am currently taking sewing classes so I can receive my certificate. I am working on one dress and will hopefully be starting another dress next week.

My goal is to feel secure enough to complete projects like you are.

How long have you been sewing??

TFS!!
