Winter Sunshine Finished

I'm finished with the first Jacket of the Month going on at Stitchers Guild.  Yay!  The fabric is wool crepe, in a color called "Winter Sunshine", from GorgeousFabrics.  I liked the color's name, so decided to name my jacket the same.   The pattern is an OOP, M 5711.  I love this pattern.  It has great details.

I've posted previously about the details and construction of this jacket.  It went together beautifully.  I will make it again.  Sometime.

Here's some photos.

All it needs is a good press, which it will get when I'm in the mood.  Or, I'll send it out.   Now, on to #2!

Aah I have waited 2 days to see this coat - I was on holiday with a place which could only get dial up Internet and it refused to download the photos - it is every bit as beautiful as I imagined and I am totally transfixed by how puckerless those darts are. They just melt into thin air. Amazing. This is a very beautiful piece of work all over.

Gorgeous! It is winter sunshine! I have that pattern but then wondered whether I'd like the dropped shoulder. Any thoughts on the way it looks or wears?

OMG! Miss Gwen, This coat is perfection. I love it. Great coat; the lines are clean and very stylish. I've had this pattern in my collection for over a year. Your version out shines the coat of the pattern envelope. Beautiful.

Hey Gwen, I don't get out much to other sewing blogs, but I got your latest comment at mine, so here I am! I am so glad your husband's TIA turned out better than it could have. What a relief.

I made this jacket too!

I haven't worn it much because it seemed just a tiny bit snug (although, I have lost a few pounds since then). Also, the neck is very open, so I would want to wear a big scarf to fill in the gap, depending on how cold it was out. But I liked the concept enough that I am thinking of making it again.
