Red Duster In Progress

My wallet was returned, intact, minus the few dollars I had in it.  I had cancelled my bank cards,  and they will  be reissued.  I was thankful I didn't have to go through the hassle of getting a new drivers license and mostly, having to deal with Blue Cross for a medical card.  I went to the bank and bought theft-identity insurance.   With it, you register all your bank cards and bank accounts.  If your wallet goes missing, you call them, and they take care of all your issues.  One phone call.  And if your identity is stolen, they will help you get out of your mess.

A while ago, I wanted to copy this--duster-- for lack of a better word.

I decided to use an old TNT shirt pattern.  Here it is, on the red poly-linen fabric I'm using.

I lengthened the pattern and A-lined it.    I drafted a roll-up sleeve with sleeve tabs, upper pockets and a back yoke.  The fabric is cut, marked and interfaced.  Ready to sew.

Happy Sewing!

Oh, that will be a fantastic shirt! And great news about your wallet. One of my colleagues had hers taken right out of her office, it was such a terrible hassle to take care of everything!

It's good your wallet was returned. It can be a hustle getting everything cancelled and replaced. The duster plan is great. We all are looking forward to the finish of your creation. ;-)

So happy it was returned! Once my husband lost our last set of car keys (he lost all the others) and then they were returned a few days later, after he had already paid hundreds of dollars to have the car towed and then a new alarm/key programmed and made. Needless to say, we were both disgusted, thank God your situation wasn't as bad. That duster is very fashionable and a great piece to add to many outfits. Can't wait to see.

Fabulous shirt! What is a "duster"?? We don't use that word in Australia.

I'm also going to make something similar. I want to roll up the sleeves and belt it and it will hopefully look very 1950s and fabulous. Good luck!
