Have You Seen This Jean?

Bev is making jeans, several pair, in fact.  She's making a pair from http://www.trudyjansendesign.com/  Here's the illustration:

There is  a seam up the middle of the back leg.  I think that's a great design feature.  It's designed as a "fit" seam, but it would also slim the leg.  It's easy enough to add to any pattern.

Trudy has some cute patterns.  She also has a couple of DVDs as well as sewing and drafting books.  I've looked at her patterns for a while but haven't purchased any--yet.  I wonder if any of you have sewn with them, and if so, what's your take on them?  She is in Canada.

No, I haven't seen these patterns- have to check them out. I made a Sandra Betzina jean last year which I was very pleased with. But you can't have enough great fitting jeans.

If you remember back a few months there was talk about Donna Karan's bias cut jeans. Looking at a rear closeup of them, they had a fitting seam down the back leg, exactly like these. I think that I am going to add one to the jeans I've been working on.

This is a new-to-me pattern company, too. I have to say, she has some really great looking jacket patterns, and I love the deep v-neck sweater.

I have a pair of jeans with the seams along the middle of the back legs as well as the middle of the front legs. Can I say I love those jeans... I mean really love them, they fit like a charm. This just may be the reason & the season to make jeans. Thanks for sharing.

I'm still on the fence about making jeans with ANY pattern, but this one is cute. Still, I can't find RTW jeans that I like either. Perhaps that means I SHOULD make my own.

New to me but well worth looking into.

New to me too - but what a great way to eliminate the baggies at the back. Must investigate further - thanks for the heads up!

Over the years, Burda Magazine (whatever they are calling themselves these days) have had numerous patterns in the Plus size range, with vertical seams in front and/or in back. Clearly, such seaming is a huge help in fitting.
I don't recall seeing any pants styled as jeans with such seams -- it would be wonderful news if that became the next "in thing" so we sewers could be really fashion forward.

Thank you SEW much ;) ! A vertical back seam is exactly what I need. Didn't know about this pattern at all until you posted this info.
