Thanks for all the good suggestions for an appropriate fabric to make the shirt/jacket. I have ordered some swatches of shantung, poly/cotton, cotton/lycra.

Hi Gwen! I just saw your comment on my blog about the Big 4 patterns. Actually, I love most of them. Only a few stinkers here and there. The fit is fairly predictable, the instructions are usually very good, and tracing off is a breeze. The convenience of a Burda subscription is nice, but the pattern sheets put me off. And you CAN'T beat the value of $1 or $2 pattern sales.
