Progress on my Hot Pattern

I got unexpected sewing time over the weekend.  I thoroughly enjoyed myself.  Here is where I am on the Riveria Boulevard jacket.

Next, I have to make a lining pattern.  This fabric definitely needs lining, because it's very scratchy.  I"m happy how it's turning out so far.  Famous Last Words.  I need a vibrant color top to go under it--maybe hot pink or bright coral.  I have to attach the collar, make the lining, insert lining and outer collar and attach cuffs.  I'll get sewing time later in the week.

Here's a photo of one of my famous T-Shirts.  The same pattern I've made since 1974 or so.

The thing is--it fits.  I cannot buy a T that fits. I like the shoulder seams to be at the shoulder, not hanging down.  I'm small(er) on the top, big on the bottom, so anything I find in RTW that fits on the top is too tight on the rear. This is my basic outfit.  For my Elegant Lifestyle.

Tomorrow, I go to the beauty shop to get some red in my hair.  Me and Flo, my new companion, the "floater" who took residence in my vision!

I love the jacket and I think the t shirt looks great. Well done!

The jacket is looking great! That's whats so nice when a pattern works, you can just keep re-using. Your t-shirt fits perfect.

You know I recently got that pattern. What level do you think it is really - it says intermediate. Hope I can handle it. What pattern is your t-shirt.

The jacket is looking very nice and so is the tshirt. i love tnt patterns! I have come to realize that I over bought in so many patterns the first two years of sewing! I just need my TNTs!

That well fitting T pattern is worth its weight in gold--definitely a real keeper. Jacket is coming along nicely.

That jacket is looking very good indeed. Love the t-shirt - you're right that it's very difficult to find a well fitting RTW to wear T.

The jacket is looking great so far. You're so lucky to have a TNT Tee -- on my 'to do' list.

I love the jacket. So lovely. I'm going to have to jump on the t-shirt band wagon myself. As for your floaters -- I sympathize. I've had them since I got hit in the eye in grade school. Of coruse, I really don't notice them -- until I'm driving. I swear I spent the first 5 hours on the road lamenting the presence of the floaters. Grrr.

It is hard to find tees that fit. I find that the neck hole is too big in most of them. You look great in yours. I really like your jacket, too!!

I just may have to make that HP pattern. It really looks great on everyone. I just saw it on another blogger recently...wish I could remember who it was because it looked so cute and so RTW.

Your jacket is looking great. I'm another one who has the pattern. The more I see of it made, the more I want to get to making it! I love the fabric in your t-shirt. It does fit well!!

The jacket and tee look great. It is amazing with tees how they can look so unflattering if the fit is a bit off. You have certainly perfected yours over the years.

Your jacket looks fantastic, as does your t-shirt. I am with Lindsay, I might have to buy this Hot Pattern.

I'm lovin' that jacket! And as for those darn floaters, they can be so annoying. And then some days I don't even notice them. I got my first floater in college and have been living with them ever since.
