Kreative Blogger Award

Thank you, Trudy, for the Kreative Blogger Award.

The rules are to name 7 things about yourself that others may not know. So, here's some bits and pieces of me.

1. I was born a southern girl, in Missouri. Transplanted to MI in my teens.

2. I was a book-keeper for an automobile dealership as a young woman. That was way back when there were no computers. We used adding machines, black and red lead pencils and huge ledgers to do our work. I used the first book-keeping machine when they appeared on the market. They were very large machines--about the size of an office desk. It was fun and I loved the job.

3. I've worked in fabric stores. I was a quilting teacher during that time. I had some original designs that were published. Also, I went to school to become certified as a quilt show judge through the National Quilting Association.

4. I had my own alteration business. I had more work than I could handle.

5. I'm a perfectionist, anal, and a bit OCD. I'm the only one in my family of that nature, and probably that's a good thing! We all try to tolerate each other's idiosyncrasies.

6. I've always struggled with my weight. 20 pounds up, 20 down. I'm going to Weight Watchers, cooking too much and exercising daily. It really cuts into my sewing time, but the results are good.

7. My hair is NOT naturally red!

Now, to pass this award along. Since I think you all are very creative and I love reading your posts, if you are listed on my side bar and you want this award, please pop in and grab it for yourself.

What a CLEVER idea, Gwen!! You really AREN'T naturally a redhead?? Not Irish?? (Do ya know that only 2% of the entire world population has 100% natural red hair??!!)
Warm greetings,
Rhonda in Montreal (PR)

From reading Rhonda's comment I realize that many of my relatives fall into the 2% category! Wow! Not me though, brown, brown, brown, until it turned gray, and then brown from a box.
You are very creative and deserve this award. I loved learning more about you.

Thank you for adding my Blog to your sidebar! I am honored.

This award is a great way to learn abit more about our favorite bloggers. It sounds like you have had a very interesting life. I think the reward for all our hard work throughout the years are our grandchildren. I envy your being able to see your grandsons often. I am hoping my grandson and his parents will be moving closer next year.

As for the redhead thing, as a natural redhead, I certainly don't blame women who want to be redheads. Redheads are very interesting people!

Keep up the good work Gwen!
