Ms Fru Fru

I love flowey, drapey, wispy garments. This is a topper I made a while ago. It's actually a shrug with ruffles.

The pattern is an OOP-B4733. It was featured in the evening wear section of the pattern catalog.
Mine is made from a poly-sheer fabric. It's very lightweight, and would be a great evening wrap, if made in the appropriate fabric. I did a serger-rolled hem on the edges of the ruffle. It's flirty and feminine, and I love wearing it.

BTW-the quilt in the background is one I made in the 80s. It's called "Lone Star", and a very familiar pattern with quilters. This one was made entirely by hand. BY HAND. No machine stitching anywhere. I pieced it by hand, and quilted it by hand. What was I thinking?

This is going to be another busy week for me. I go to Creative Clothing Club tomorrow, which takes up most of the day. I babysit a couple of days this week.

And--hello--September is around the corner! You know what that means. Kids back in school. Vacations over. Back to sewing! Fall is in the air. I love it! Give me September all year.

Sew on!

THere's a ASG Expo this weekend? Where? Do you have to sign up in advance? I'm going to be in Detroit this weekend, so I'm quite interested. I'm all registered for the big one in Novi at the end of September but this is news. Please comment me back on my blog or you can email me at ecbryantt2002 at yahoo dot com.
My MIL does all her quilts by hand, I'm facinated, amazed and exhausted!

Got your comment Gwen. Get me all excited like that, you should be ashamed. Now I'll have to spend time with my son like I'd originally planed. Go see a movie, take him shopping.
I'll be at the Novi site on that Saturday, bright and early. I have an early class and I'll get up early and drive down from Rochester Hills. Hope to see you there, too. When I get home tonight I'll take a look at my schedule so I can tell you when I won't be in a class. I really want to go by the PR booth, too.

The wrap is awesome. I especially like the color and the way it flows! That quilt made completely by hand! Wow! I'm impressed!

I love this wrap! I find garments like this to be perfect in my climate. When I am in airconditioning I like to slip wraps on to keep the chill off bare skin, but it slips off and folds up in a small bundle when you need to take it off. The colour is lovely on you, too.

That really livens up a white outfit, that's for sure. The flounce on the bottom is my favorite part.

I love how this looks with the outfit you picked. The way the diagonals are on the back, the front drape. Perfection!

It's a beautiful top on you and the ruffles are perfect for it. I love flouncing around in things like this!

I love your drapey shrug. The color is very flattering on you. The quilt is amazing --- moreso because you did all of it by hand! Bravo!

The wrap is great, and I love the colors. I am IMPRESSED as anything by the quilt - all that by hand. It just proves that instant gratification sewing isn't all there is to life. Beautiful.
