I'm feeling better. Yay. That pneumonia/bronchitis threw me for a loop! At the same time, my husband developed a terrible sinus infection, so we were both sick. We've recovered, and anxious to get back to what we normally do.
Before the hiatus, I had intended to make a white shirt with tucks down the fronts. I toyed with one pattern and another, finally deciding to make a pattern I've never used. M5433 is a Palmer/Pletsch fitted shirt pattern. It has a collar, collar band and front placket, similar to what I want to start with. There's no back yoke, so if I decide I want one, I'll add it.
Nancy made this shirt when she hosted the "Great White Shirt" on PR.
I had started a trial shirt from a blue/white pinstripe cotton. White collar, 3/4 length sleeves with white cuffs. That's what I will pick up on, hopefully this weekend.
American Sewing Expo in Novi, MI is coming up the end of September. I'm going with a friend, and taking one hands-on workshop--free form knit/crochet handbag. The fibers are knit/crocheted, and attached to a plastic mesh purse form. A couple of years ago, we both bought forms, thinking we were going to have fun making the bags, but as things go, neither of us ever did anything with them. This is a perfect opportunity.
There's a nice line-up of teachers at this year's Expo. Koos, Kenneth King, Sandra Betzina. And, of course, shopping. I'm looking forward to it. All good things happen in the fall.
I hope to get some sewing in today. First though, I must paint my toenails and fingernails as they are sorely in need of attention. We're going to a memorial service tomorrow for my BIL. Sundays, we're busy with church and lunch out with family. I'm busy Mon, Tue and Wed, and sewing time will be limited for a few days.
Have a great weekend!

So glad to hear that you are both doing better.
Hi Gwen,
Glad you like my shirt pattern for McCall's #5433. It has been selected to be one of our students' favorite patterns to be fitted in our summer fit workshops in Portland, Or. I will be speaking in Novi. Hope you can attend one of my seminars. Pati Palmer, Palmer/Pletsch
